Working from the top down, you basically make three triangles, then join them at the rust to start working in the round. After wearing them out, in-cord straps are taken from the faces and tied at the back.
A few different magnification methods are used in this pattern. For the faces, you can make a simple magnification of 1. As for the back, the instructions say “knit into a strip X. fold.” I recommend using the kfb (knit back to front) method. See blog post for links to videos of these techniques.
This pattern uses Purl Soho’s Cattail silk yarn. Due to the generous yard of the yarn, all sizes can be made with less than one skeleton. The yarn knits a bit crispy, but relaxes noticeably after blocking and weaving. Be sure to block your gauge pendulum. There are so many ways to modify this pattern to make it your own. See the end of the pattern for notes on a few different variations.
